Abacus Research Research has clearly shown that an Abacus-based education enhances progress in a wide variety of abilities and skills. Scientific analyses have demonstrated the effectiveness of Abacus training by showing improvement in the following seven abilities: - Ability to concentrate (Concentration)
- Ability to visualize and be inspired (Inspiration)
- Ability to memorize (Memorization)
- Ability to observe attentively (Insight)
- Ability to process information (Information Processing)
- Ability to listen and read quickly (Speed Reading and Listening)
- Ability to Focus (Psychomotor Skills)
Why Choose SIP Academy’s Abacus Program? In our Smart Intellectual Program, the Abacus is used as an essential instrument for mental development supplemented by many other types of mental exercises during the course. Our practicing principles at SIP Academy incorporate both Brain Exercise and a unique Multiple Intelligence approach to enhance children’s overall mental development. Through focused learning exercises, the child’s extends his mind to discover hidden talents and skills in a most enjoyable manner. That is, learning is both highly productive, but at the same time so much fun!
At SIP, we coach children in much better ways to explore the inner workings of their minds through developing competent abilities in handling simple arithmetic operations. Subsequently, children are then able to use that kind of exploration and insight to gain deeper understanding of more advanced mathematical mysteries. The SIP Abacus program has pioneered the art of using the Abacus and whole brain approach methodology with outstanding success over many years. Our experiences in many different countries and cultures all over the world have proven that our learning and teaching techniques are indeed state-of-the-art in the field of children’s formative educational development. We are proud and committed to continue our dedicated commitment in transferring the working knowledge of the adaptable Abacus and related learning skills to the next generation.
SIP Abacus's Mission is to transform young children into a new breed of courageous, confident and skillful prodigies ~ the next generation of highly skilled, socially responsible members of society with extraordinary talents and skills. Upon graduation, they will indeed have a clear advantage and competitive edge over others who have been held back by uninventive, unproductive, conservative and old fashioned teaching methods. Inherent in the Abacus system of developmental education is a novel dynamism that will remain with the student for a lifetime!
The SIP Abacus learning technique is a time-tested, proven methodology meeting if not exceeding, international standards of primary educational instruction. Integral to this approach is that it is child-friendly utilizing motivating contents to develop children’s self-esteem, self-worth and personal confidence. It is far more than mere learning static content at school. It is a dynamic and valuable investment in the child’s future! Mathematics is taught as a "subject" in school. But in fact, mathematics is so much more than that! It encompasses philosophy, art, analytical problem solving, critical thinking, observation, short and long term memory, entertainment, fun and so much more. We are usually taught that there is only "one way" to get an answer. That is one of the worst things you can tell someone. First of all, it is not true! For instance, there are many ways to do addition and subtraction sums and many ways to do multiplication and division. And one of the worst ways is to torture children to “memorize tables," called rote learning which uses repetitive, robotic-type responses that do not promote any skills whatsoever in thinking ability!
On the other hand, our SIP Abacus Teaching and Learning Strategies use many different motivational ways to carry out a wide variety of arithmetical operations using the Abacus. This always proves to be a much more inspiring method than merely memorizing some boring material parrot-fashion. Children who are well versed in Abacus manipulation skills are tutored to understand the infinite power of visualization, and clearly, children love using and developing this acquired skill. Research has shown that even very young children who learn the Abacus basics of arithmetic, achieve a much faster and more comprehensive understanding of all mathematical concepts, thereby reducing time and effort to fully master mathematical subjects. They are also eager to challenge themselves to solve problems as mental blocks are easily removed on their road to reaching their full potential.
